Database of 2329 Experimentally Validated Allergens

Completeness Index

Each allergen in AllerBase is represented by data on important features like allergenicity assays (experimental validation), cross-links to sequence and/or structure, IgE epitope, IgE antibody and IgE cross-reactivity. The data on experimental validation of allergens is represented in the form of assays/tests used for characterization of allergenicity. These methods/assays are grouped into four categories: (a) IgE assay/test (b) Biological test/assay (c) Physicochemical test (d) Cell-based assay

Completeness Index is the representation of availability of allergen data with respect to nine features. These nine features are IgE assay/test, Biological test/assay, Physicochemical test, Cell-based assay, sequence, structure, IgE epitope, IgE antibody and IgE cross-reactivity respectively. The index is represented in the Binary format, in which availability of data for the particular feature is denoted by 1 while its absence is denoted by 0.

For example, Completeness Index of German cockroach allergen Bla g 2 is 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 0 1. This indicates that data for IgE assay/test, Biological test/assay, Physicochemical test, Cell-based assay, sequence, structure, IgE epitope and IgE cross-reactivityis present for Bla g 2 while data for IgE antibody is not available.
