Even though many search utilities available on WWW for various Bioinformatics databases, these are not fully customizable for search and retrieval of specific subsets of data in batch mode. BioDB Extractor (BDE) provides customized search utilities for widely used Bioinformatics databases through web-based user interface.
Databases included in current version of BDE:
Nucleotide database: ENA |
|
Protein Sequence database: UniProtKB |
|
Protein structure database: PDB |
|
Metabolic pathway database: KEGG |
|
Drug molecule database: DrugBank |
|
DSSP |
Salient features:
Current version of BDE (1.1 (Beta release)) is Ids based customized retrieval system and currently do not support keyword based searches.
Users need not download the entire data files from respective databases which save the storage space on local disk of user’s computer as well as time.
Provide the facility to retrieve desired subsets of data from respective databases in customized manner & download it.
Customizable batch retrieval system for all included databases.
Users need not write any script to parse the subsets of data from database entry file/s.
BDE best viewed using: Google Chrome (Version- 27.0.1453.110 m onwards)
